Apollo is built on the principle that your goals are your business. This policy explains exactly what data Apollo uses and why.
What Apollo Collects A random device identifier. When you first open Apollo, the app generates a random ID (a UUID) for your device. This is not linked to your name, email address, or Apple ID. It exists solely to let your accountability partner send you nudges.
Your goals and progress. Goal titles, check-in history, streaks, and settings are stored on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, this data is also backed up to your private iCloud account (via iCloud Key-Value Storage) so you can restore it if you reinstall the app. Apollo has no access to your iCloud data — it lives in your Apple ID, not on Apollo’s servers.
Your partner’s name and icon. When you pair with a partner, you choose a name and emoji for them. This is stored only on your device.
Your push notification token. If you allow notifications, iOS issues a push token that Apollo registers with its relay server. This token is used only to deliver nudges from your partner to your device.
What Passes Through Apollo’s Relay Server Apollo uses a lightweight relay server to connect paired devices. The following data passes through it: • Your random device ID • Pairing codes (short-lived, used only to establish a connection) • Nudges you send (type, optional message, optional goal title) • Your goal list, when synced with a partner
This data is used to route messages between paired devices. Apollo does not log, sell, or analyze this data for any purpose beyond delivery.
What Apollo Does Not Collect • Your name or email address • Your location • Any health or biometric data • Payment information • Any data used for advertising or profiling
Third Parties Apollo does not use advertising networks, analytics platforms, or crash reporting SDKs. There are no third-party trackers in the app.
Apple may collect certain data as part of the iOS platform and the App Store. See Apple’s Privacy Policy (https://www.apple.com/privacy/) for details.
Data Retention and Deletion All goal data lives on your device. Deleting the app removes it. iCloud backup data can be cleared from Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage on your device.
Data that passed through the relay server (nudges, sync events) is not retained after delivery.
Children Apollo is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to This Policy We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
